To celebrate 100th anniversary of the first transatlantic flight. British pilot Capt. John Alcock and Lt Arthur Whitten Brown changed worldwide Aviation forever when boarded their modified First World War Vickers Vimy bomber in Newfoundland and crossed the Atlantic Ocean to Ireland making it the first ever successful non-stop transatlantic flight. This effort earned them a great reputation and also the prise of 10,000 pounds that was offered by the newspaper ‘The Daily Mail’. The flight began in Newfoundland and they landed 16 hours later in Galway Ireland.
