In the year 1983 and 1984, the United States of America had issued the series of commemorative coins to commemorate 1984 Summer Olympics games held in Los Angeles. These coins were authorized by Public Law 97-220. The surcharges from the sale of coinage will be used to help the variety of organization that will benefit the public.
The obverse of this coin depicts Discus Thrower, five stars and the Olympic Rings. The reverse of this coin depicts the bust of an eagle.
