The city Agra is well known as home for one of the Seven Wonders of the World, Taj Mahal. Taj Mahal, is one of the significant monument of Mughal Empire. Taj Mahal is the major tourist destination because of its Mughal era building.The reference of Agra can be found in Indian epic like Mahabharata was Agra is referred to as ‘Agravana’. In some other source, Agra is also referred to as Arya Griha or Aryans. During the medieval period, the city was captured by the Mughal Empire; the Mughal Empire ruled this place from 1526 CE till 1658 CE. When Agra came under the control of Akbar, he renamed Agra after his name as Akbarabad. Akbar also built a new city on the outskirts of Akbarab?d, well known as Fatehp?r Sikr?. This city was build in the form of Mughal military camp in stone. Akbarabad was one of the most important cities of India during the Mughal period.
This silver rupee was issued by Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb during 22nd year of his reign in the Hijri Year 1113. The obverse of this coin is inscribed with the name and title of the king Aurangzeb. The reverse of this is inscribed with the mint name Mustaqir-ul-Khilafat Akbarabad and regnal year 45.
