The United States of America had issued this 5 Dollar gold commemorative coin to commemorate the Bicentennial of the United States Congress. The United States had issued this congressional coin in the year 1989.The United States Bicentennial was a series of celebration which was observed in the mid of 1970s. This event had paid tribute to the historical event leading to the creation of the United States of America as an independent republic. It was a central event in the memory of the American Revolution.
This obverse of this Bicentennial coin depicts the rendition of the Capitol Dome. The reverse of this coin depicts a portrait of the majestic eagle overlooking the canopy in the Old Senate Chamber.
