It features a time when Lincoln was just a woodcutter and he was not having any time to read books or going to school. But, his parents loved to read books and they had also passed that love to their son.
This penny features Abraham Lincoln reading book while taking a break from his work as rail-splitter. This was the period of Abraham Lincoln in Indiana when his mother Nancy died when he was 9 years old. His stepmother Sarah Bush Johnston was a kind and caring stepmother. The next time the family moved, Abraham was 21.
