Ajmer is situated in Rajasthan State, it is a city on the lower slopes of Taragarh Hill. Ajmer was established in the seventh century by Ajayraj Singh Chauhan, the person who built India’s first hill fort; Taragarh Fort. Later descendants of Ajayraj Singh Chauhan ruled Ajmer till twelfth century.Ajmer can under the control of Mughal Empire in 1558 CE during the rule of Muhammad Akbar. Ajmer was at its peak under the rule of Mughal Empire, Later when East India Company came to seek the permission to do business in Mughal territory it caught into the hands of British Raj in India.
The Silver rupee was issued by Mughal Empire Farrukhsiyar from the mint Mustaqir-Al-Khilafat Ajmer during the 6th year of his reign.
