Three Rare $100 National Bank Notes To Be Auctioned

The Lyn Knight Currency Auctions sale would be held at the Professional Currency Dealers Association convention in Rosemont, Ill on 18th November. Three rarely-seen $100 national bank notes are going to steal the limelight at the event.Two of them are Friedberg 530 Series 1882 Second Charter Period Brown Back national bank notes. One is the only known note issued by the First National Bank of Topeka (Kansas) in Extremely Fine condition. It was sold for $18,975 in 2006 and is expected fetch double the amount this time. The other one is the second known note issued by the First National Bank of Grand Forks (North Dakota). It has an estimated value of $30,000 to $50,000.
The third is one out of the five known examples of an F-704 Plain Back issue from the Reno National Bank (Nevada) in Very Fine + condition which is offered at an estimated value of 20,000 to $30,000. A 15th August 1864 $20 compound interest note (F-191a) graded Very Fine 30 Apparent with overprinted non-oxidized copper surcharge inscription has an estimated value of $25,000 and an opening bid of $15,000.
Many such interesting and rare notes are expected to be sold for an impressive amount during the event.
