Malaya and British Borneo was a Currency Commission called the Board of Commissioners of Currency, Malaya and British Borneo. It was initiated on Jan 1, 1952 for the purpose of providing a common currency for use in Johore, Kelantan, Kedah, Perlis, Trengganu, Negri Sembilan, Pahang, Perak, Selangor, Penang, Malacca, Singapore, North Borneo, Sarawak and Brunei.
Coins of Malaya and British Borneo consisted of 1, 5, 10, and 20 cents which were minted at King’s Norton (Birmingham), Heaton (Birmingham) and Royal Mint.
