Christmas Special Cartoon Caption Contest
2016-11-28 Mon
The 1988 25¢ Christmas stamp featuring a one-horse open sleigh and a village scene has two cylinder flaws which appear once in every 300 stamps printed. The couple on the sledge is facing the viewer, not forward like they should ideally while riding a sledge. People are now invited to participate in a contest and think what one of the pairs is saying to the other. It could be based on any subject from Christmas, philately, politics, or anything else. Two prizes will be given out, one for the best philatelic line, and one for the best nonphilatelic line.
Humorous entries have a better chance of winning. Entries can be sent via a postcard to John Hotchner, Cartoon Contest, Box 1125, Falls Church, VA 22041-0125, or can be emailed to jmhstamp@verizon.net. Including mailing address is compulsory.
With winners would get the book Linn’s Stamp Identifier, published by Linn’s, or a 13-week subscription to Linn’s. The last date for the entries is 23rd December.
