Department of India Post issued Rs. 5 commemorating Nikola Tesla. He was one of the greatest Serbian scientists in the area of electrical engineering, telecommunications, robotics and physics. Tesla is the author of more than 700 patents and some of his most important inventions are plyphase system, rotating magnetic field, asynchronous motor, synchronous generator and hihg voltage AC transformer. He also invented a special way for generating high frequency current and gave siginificant contribution to the transefer and modulation of radio-signals, as well as in the area of X-rays. The stamp depicts a potrait of Nikola Tesla.
