The World Hindi was first held in 1975 at Nagpur, Maharashtra. It's aim is to promote Hindi language across all platforms. India Post issued a Rs. 5 stamp to commemorate this event. It depicts the logo of the conference which was chosen from a design competition organised by the Ministry of External Affairs.
