1869 30c Pictorial Issue Stamp Beats All the Estimations

A rare pictorial stamp beat all the estimation at the latest auction. This 30c ultramarine and carmine pictorial issue stamp was sold for US$ 35,000.The 1869 US stamp of 30c was auctioned at Robert Siegel auction held on 7th April 2016 at New York. The stamp was issued in April 869 and is known to have been recorded 60 covers all over the world.
Graded XF-Superb 95 by the Philatelic Foundation, the stamp depicts Shield, Eagle, and Flags with an emblem in the middle showing the value of the stamp. The stamp was the first official US series to display images other than former statesmen.
The stamp that was sold at the auction is one of the finest three specimens of its type. It beat all the estimations and was sold for US$ 35,000.
