Peru’s New Sol Coin Features Tumbes

Peru’s latest sol coin featuring the Tumbes archaeological site Cabeza de Vaca, located in northern Peru, was released for circulation on 6th April. It is the 24th coin released under the numismatic series, Wealth and Pride of Peru.As per official reports 12 million units will be minted.
The obverse features the Coat of Arms of Peru with an inscription on the outer edge which reads “Banco Central de Reserva del Peru”, the year of minting, and an eight-sided polygon.
The reverse depicts the Archaeological Zone of the Cabeza de Vaca of Tumbes.
This legal tender can be used for transactions and will be under circulation along with the current sol coins.
