"SAY NO TO DRUGS" Message on Stamp from Aland Island
2016-04-08 Fri
Aland Island issued a Special Stamp in April 2014 to support “Zero Tolerance Project”. The project aims at preventing the use of drugs among the youngsters of the country.Started in 2013 on the initiative of the Aland Government, the main goal of the Zero Tolerance project is to free the young generation from the toxic embrace of drugs. The non-governmental health care organization Folkhslsan pa Aland is behind this initiative.
Designed by Joakim Saul, the stamp bears a certain resemblance to the design of a dollar bill. The stamp is designed only in Black and White colour and shows a beautiful symbolic representation of “Anti-Drugs” message.
The addiction, here, is shown as a forbidden fruit wrapped in the carnivorous plant and surrounded by a poisonous snake. The message is quite clear.
€0.20 of the price of every stamp sold is directly donated to the Zero Tolerance project.
