2016 US Proof Set from San Francisco Mint Released

On April 1st, U.S. Mint’s most popular annual numismatic products, the 2016 Proof Set was launched. This set includes thirteen clad coins which showcase frosted designs against mirror-like backgrounds. All of them are made at the San Francisco Mint and bear ‘S’ mintmarks.The proof set are composed of the same base metals as their circulating counterparts but are struck multiple times using polished dies and hand-polished blanks to produce more shine and a sharper level of detail.

The five America the Beautiful Quarters, the Native American $1 Coin and the final three Presidential $1 Coins were designed in 2016. The quarters and Presidential dollars are also available separately in their own proof sets.
