Michigan is one of the states of the United States of America; it is situated in the Great Lakes and Midwestern region of the United States of America. Word ‘Michigan’ is derived from the Ojibwe word ‘mishigamaa’ which means ‘large water’ of ‘large lake’. Michigan is 10th most populous states amongst 50 United States of America. The capital of this state in Lansing, it is the largest city if this state is Detroit. State Michigan ranks first in the production of motor vehicles and its other parts. It is also a leader in producing many other manufacturing and processing lines, including prepared cereals, machine tools, airplane parts, refrigerators, hardware, and furniture.The United States of America had issued a commemorative quarter dollar with the theme of state Michigan in the year 2004. This quarter dollar is the 1st coin release in the year 2001 and overall it is 26th coin release in 50 States Quarters Program. The reverse of this coin depicts an outline map of Michigan and the Great Lakes System.
