Farrukhsiyar Gold Mohur Sold For INR 1,20,000

Farrukhsiyar was the ruler of the Mughal Empire who ruled this empire from 1713 CE to 1719 CE. He sat on the Mughal throne with the help of Sayyid brothers, particularly, Sayyid Ali Khan Barha.

After sitting on the throne of Mughal Empire he made Sayyid Ali Khan Barha was Grand Wazir of this Empire. Basically, Farrukhsiyar sat on the Mughal throne as a puppet of Sayyid brothers. Later during his reign, when he faced enmity which this two brothers they imprisoned him, blinded him by needles and finally killed him.

This gold mohur was issued by Farrukhsiyar during the year of his reign. The weight of this coin is around 11.4g and it was minted in Farkhanda Bunyad Hyderabad. The obverse of this coin is inscribed with the name and title of the king and reverse of this coin is inscribed with the mint name and regnal year 3.

This gold mohur was sold for INR 1,20,000 at Todywalla Auction held in Ahmadabad on 9th February 2019.
