Pratap Singh - Baroda State Gold Mohur Listed For INR 3,00,000

This gold mohur which weighs around 6.08g was issued by Pratap Singh Rao Gaekwad of Princely State Baroda.Baroda was a Princely State during British rule in India; today it is located in the present day Gujarat. The ruling class of Baroda was descended from Maratha Soldier, Damaji. Pratap Singh Rao Gaekwad was the last ruling Maharaja of Baroda. He succeeded to the throne after the death of his grandfather Maharaja Saiyajirao Gaekwad III in the year 1939 CE. In the year 1947 India got independence from the British rule, and in the year 1949 Baroda had been merged into the Union of India.
This gold mohur issued by him is listed for INR 3,00,000 in the upcoming auction of Todywalla which will be held in Ahmadabad on 9th February 2019.
