Gerald Rudolph Ford was born on 14th July 1913 in Omaha, Nebraska. He was an American politician who had served his country as 38th President of United States from August 1974 to January 1977. Before becoming the President of United States he had also served his country as Vice-President from December 1973 to August 1974. He took the charge of Presidential office after the resignation of the president Richard Nixon; who left the White House in disgrace over the Watergate scandal. He was the first unelected president in the history of the United Nation. He was the only person in the history of United Nation who had served both as Vice-President and as President without being elected to either office.United Nation has issued his one dollar commemorative coin with his portrait of the obverse side of the coin. The obverse of this coin depicts the portrait of Gerald R. Ford with an inscription ‘Gerald R. Ford’ at the top and the inscription ‘IN GOD WE TRUST 38th PRESIDENT 1974-1977’ at the bottom. The reverse side of the coin depicts the image of ‘STATUE OF LIBERTY’ with an inscription ‘UNITED STATES OF AMERICA’ and $1.
