Isle of Man Releases Angel Coins

Coin Invest Trust released a 2 oz 0.999 pure silver Proof coin and a 1/64 oz 0.9999 pure gold Proof coin for the country, Isle of Man featuring Saint Michael. The silver coin has a diameter of 38.61 millimetres and a mintage limit of 999 pieces, while the gold coin has a diameter of 11 millimetres and a mintage limit of 15,000 pieces. Both coins have been struck at B. H. Mayer’s Kunstprageanstalt, Munich.The obverse features a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II along with other inscriptions like QUEEN ELIZABETH II ISLE OF MAN and 2018. Initials – JC of the designer Jody Clark is also inscribed on the obverse. The reverse features Saint Michael slaying the dragon. Coin specifications such as Ag .999 2 ounces / ANGEL or Au .9999 half gram / ANGEL are also inscribed. The border depicts different forms of the island’s coat of arms, the triskele. A noted designer named Raphael David Maklouf has designed the reverse design for the Angel coin in 2017 and 2018. Smartminting technology is applied to achieve the high relief reverse design. Saint Michael is popularly worshipped and admired in the islands.
