2018-11-26 Mon

The Botanic Garden is also known as Botanical Garden. It is a garden which involves the collection, cultivation, and display of a wide range of plants labelled with their botanical names. It also contains the collection of plants like Cacti, succulent plants, herb gardens, plants form particular parts of the world, and so on; there may be greenhouses, shade houses, again with special collections such as tropical plants, alpine plants, or other exotic plants.

Botanical gardens are often run by universities or other scientific research organizations, and often have associated herbaria and research programmes in plant taxonomy or some other aspect of botanical science.

The United States of America had issued this one dollar commemorative coin on Botanic Garden in the year 1997. The coin is based on United States Botanic Garden; it is a museum of flower and plants which was established by George Washington, Thomas Jefferson and James Madison in Washington, DC. President James Monroe signed legislation in 1820 that led to the creation of the U.S. Botanic Garden.
