O my Lord send peace and blessings upon your Beloved The best of all creations.

Muhammad is the leader of both worlds and both creations (man and jinn). And of both groups, Arabs and non-Arabs.

Eid Milad-un-Nabi also referred as Mawlid is a festival of Muslim community which signifies the birth of the Prophet Muhammad. It is a day to remind the kindness, compassion and the teaching of the holy prophet. According to legend, Muhammad was born on 12th Rabi-ul-Awwal (the third month of Islamic Calendar) 570 CE in Mecca.

On this day, hymns are sung in praise of the Prophet and the holy Kuran is read and recited and religious meetings are organized in the Mosques. Eid Milad-un-Nabi is a large event for religious scholars; they participate in lectures and thoughtful discussion about Muhammad and Islam. Members of the clergy distribute sweets and other treats. People invite friends and relatives to feast and offer food, cloth to the poor. Donating to charity is also considered an important aspect of the Day.

To commemorate this day Sri Lanka Post has issued a postal stamp in 2016. The stamps depict the beautiful mosque Masjid-e-Nabvi (Medina) which is the burial place of the Prophet Muhammad. Mintage World Wishes you Eid-E-Milad-Un-Nabi Mubarak to you and your family!
