Lions Club International Commemorative issue

Lions Club International is a non-political service organization was established in Chicago in the year 1916. The founder of this organization is Melvin Jones, a business leader; he told members of his local business club that they should reach beyond their business issues and should address for the betterment of their communities and the world. With his vision for the betterment of the society, he came up with the idea of Lions Club International. This organization empowers his volunteers to serve their society, community, encourage peace and to promote international understanding.

Lions Club International is one of the world largest organizations, having around 1.6 million member and 46,000 clubs provide humanitarian services in more than 200 countries. The united states of America had issued this commemorative coin on June 7, 2017, in an occasion of 100 years of community service to men, women, and children worldwide.

The obverse of this coin is featured with the portrait of Melvin Jones with the logo of Lions Club International. The reverse of this coin depicts male and female lion with a lion cub superimposed over a globe.
