“The Earth and Beyond” is a three-coin series introduced by the Royal Australian Mint that celebrates our planet and other celestial bodies. The second coin is again a dome-shaped coin that was released recently featuring a stunning depiction of the moon on the convex side.Mint officials state that the convex shape of the coins adds depth and accuracy to the design. These are the first coloured dome-shaped coins to be issued by Royal Australian Mint. The concave obverse side depicts an effigy of Queen Elizabeth II. Planets from the solar system are orbiting the central design.
The 1-ounce fine silver $5 2019 Proof coin has a diameter of 39.62 mm and comes in a presentation case with a numbered Certificate of Authenticity. It has a mintage limit of 5000 pieces and can be purchased for $125.00 (AUD).
