Captain Kathryn Janeway and the U.S.S. Voyager, the commander and starship from Star Trek, were featured on The Perth Mint’s latest silver coins which are sold in special transporter-themed packaging, struck as legal tender of the island nation of Tuvalu.

The reverse design depicts actor Kate Mulgrew in her role as Captain Kathryn Janeway. She appears in front of the Star Trek emblem with the U.S.S. Voyager to the side. Other inscriptions include ‘CAPTAIN KATHRYN JANEWAY’, ‘1 OZ 999 SILVER’, ‘TM & © 2015 CBS ARR’ and the Perth Mint’s ‘P’ mintmark.

The reverse of the U.S.S. Voyager silver coin features the ship itself flying away from a Borg cube in space. Ian Rank-Broadley portrait of Queen Elizabeth II is featured on the obverse.
