Rafi ud Darjat was the youngest son of Rafi-ush-Shan and the nephew of Azim ush Shan. He sat on the Mughal throne after the death of Farrukhsiyar in the year 1719 CE. Rafi-ud Darjat was an intelligent person but, he was completely controlled by Sayyid Brothers who carried out administration in his name.

This silver Rupee was issued in his reign. The obverse of a coin bore the Persian legend ‘Sikka zad Ba Hind Ba Hazaraan Barkaat Shahanshah Bahar-o-Bar Rafi-ud-Darjaat’ with Hijri Year 113(1). The reverse of a coin depicts the legend ‘Julus Maimanat Manus Zarb Zeenat ul-Bilad Ahmadabad’ with regnal year ‘Ahad’.
