Coin of Rafi-ud-Darjat

Rafi ud Darjat was the youngest son of Rafi-ush-Shan and the nephew of Azim ush Shan. He sat on the Mughal throne after the death of Farrukhsiyar in the year 1719 CE. Rafi-ud Darjat was an intelligent person but, he was completely controlled by Sayyid Brothers who carried out administration in his name.This silver Rupee was issued in his reign. The obverse of a coin bore the Persian legend ‘Sikka zad Ba Hind Ba Hazaraan Barkaat Shahanshah Bahar-o-Bar Rafi-ud-Darjaat’ with Hijri Year 113(1). The reverse of a coin depicts the legend ‘Julus Maimanat Manus Zarb Zeenat ul-Bilad Ahmadabad’ with regnal year ‘Ahad’.
