The first postage stamps of Estonia were put into use on November 22, 1918, less than two weeks after the end of World War I.The stamps are lithographed on unwatermarked paper, and they are imperforate. The design consists of tablets containing the inscription EESTI POST and the denomination. The stamps were issued in two denominations with two different colours. 5Kopecks stamp is in pale red whereas 15 Kopecks stamp is bright blue.
A couple of months later the second set was issued with two more denominations. The 35 Penni stamp with brown-olive colour and 70 Penni in olive green colour mark the first stamp issues of Estonia.
