The annual public survey Coin of the Year 2015 has been announced by Latvijas Banka which is scheduled from 1st March to 22nd March 2016.

Based on artistic presentation, emotional attractiveness, originality and featured subject-matter, Latvijas Banka has invited the public to vote for their favourite coin of the year 2015.

The contenders are 6 collectors coins - "150 Years of Firefighting in Latvia", "500 Years of the Riga Castle", "Rainis and Aspazija", "Valse Mélancolique", "Fairy Tale Coin I. Five Cats" and "500 Years of Livonian Ferding".

A panel of experts will determine and present a special award for the most artistic coin.

Online voting will be open on Latvijas Banka website at www.bank.lv/aptaujaand www.draugiem.lv/latvijasbanka

The results will be announced on 28th April.
