This gold Gilt half dub or 1/96 rupee of East India Company (EIC) was circulated in Madras Presidency. It was issued in the year 1979, the obverse of this coin depicts the coat of arms of EIC with legend on the edges with denomination below it. The reverse of this coin depicts the denomination value with English United East India Company lettering on the edge.This coin is one of the finest specimen known, it was sold by Todywalla auction for INR 1, 30,000 on 21st April 2018 in Mumbai.
