This gold mohur of Nepal was issued in the reign of Maharaja Tribhuvan Bir Bikram in VS 1991. Todywalla Auction is bidding this coin in the upcoming auction taking place in Mumbai.Maharaja Tribhuvan Bir Bikram was crowned at age of eight with his mother acting as the regent. The coinage of Maharaja Tribhuvana consists of 1, 2 and 5 copper paisa and the silver coinage consist 1 dam to 1/4, 1, 2, 4 mohurs. The gold in his coinage started issuing after the introduction of the rupee in 1950.
The obverse of this coin depicts legend in floral design in the centre with legend around it within a square border. The date is inscribed below it with floral design on both sides within the dotted and line border. The reverse of this coin depicts flower-like design on the whole flan, Devanagari letters and different design are inscribed in the pellet within the line and dotted border.
