Hong Kong Releases Innovative Stamps with Augmented Reality Feature
2018-03-24 Sat
Hong Kong released exciting and innovative new postage stamps highlighting the architectural heritage of the city. The stamps depict illustrations which become visible when you move your smartphone camera over them.By using HKPostStamps App, viewers can see a three-dimensional pop-up of a heritage building that can also be rotated and explored on the mobile screen. Through this augmented reality technology, each stamp offers a mini architecture tour.
Stone Houses Family Garden, a row of vernacular homes built in the 1940s, and the former clubhouse of the Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club are some of the buildings shown on the new stamps. Interactive buttons allow users to learn about the building’s history, the building’s hours, website, and photos. These are undoubtedly some of the most innovative stamps to be ever released.
