Light Bulb Privy Mark on Latest Canadian Coin

Canada released a new Maple Leaf silver Reverse Proof bullion coin featuring a small light bulb privy mark on the reverse. The coin celebrates the works of Canadian scientists Henry Woodward and Mathew Evans who inspired Thomas Edison to invent the light bulb technology.The coin is produced using the latest Mintshield surface protection technology that prevents white spotting. This innovation was first implemented on the 2018 silver Maple Leaf. The 1-ounce .9999 fine silver coin has a mintage limit of 50,000 pieces.
Its reverse features the sugar maple leaf design. The privy mark is designed like a commercial light bulb. The light bulb was invented in 1880’s by Edison after the groundwork research that was undertaken by Woodward and Evans. The obverse features the common effigy of Queen Elizabeth II.
