MS 68 1943 Walking Liberty Half Dollar Sold for $18,001

There is a lot of demand for the finest-known grades of common coins. These demands are being satisfied by the regular auctions conducted by GreatCollections, David Lawrence, Heritage, Stack’s Bowers Galleries and Legend Rare Coin Auctions.A 1943 Walking Liberty Half Dollar, graded PCGS MS 68 with a CAC Sticker was sold through GreatCollections’s online auction of Centurion Collection for $18,001.12 on 28th January.
It is basically a type-coin for the series. As many as 53,190,000 coins were issued and many of them are in top Mint State grades. 533 such cons have been graded by PCGS in MS-67 and 56 such coins are graded in MS-67+. The finest is the MS-68 example.
It was sold in August 2015 Heritage auction for $21,150. Only six such examples graded PCGS MS-68 existed back then. It features a mint-fresh luster with lavender, lilac, gold and cottonwood-green toning.
