2020 Olympic Games Commemorative Coins

Designs for 5 commemorative coins to celebrate 2020 Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics have been revealed by Japanese Government. A total of 30 such coins would be released in four installments before the event begins.The 10,000-yen gold coin depicts an image that represents traditional horseback archery. Chinese inscriptions in the coin translate to "Strength of mind, technique, and body".
A 1,000-yen silver coin features swimmers and another one depicts judoists. A 100 yen coin shows fencing while another one of the same denomination is dedicated to Paralympic sport of Boccia. The gold coin is valued over 1,120 dollars. The silver coins can be purchased for 89 dollars each.
Applications for buying these coins will be accepted in July. The 100 yen coins will be distributed through financial institutions from November.
