Rectangular Coins Featuring Chinese Dragon

The Perth Mint released new rectangle-shaped bullion coins on 2nd February to celebrate Chinese mythology. 500,000 .9999 fine silver dollars and 25,000 .9999 fine gold $100 coins will be released, all of which will be Australian legal tender.The dragon is considered to be a divine mythical creature according to Chinese tradition. It is also a symbol of power, strength, wealth, and good fortune. It is generally shown along with a flaming pearl.
The reverse design features a Chinese dragon chasing a flaming pearl. Wind, clouds, and water are shown in the background. Perth Mint’s P Mint mark is also included. The reverse design features a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, the denomination, 2018, weight, and fineness.
The silver bullion coins come in protective tubes of 20 pieces, or in monster boxes of 10 tubes. The gold coins come in an acrylic capsule or encapsulated and packed in tubes of 20 coins, or a monster box of 200 coins.
