Coin Goof Up: 2015 Coin in Canadian 2016 Uncirculated Sets
2016-02-18 Thu
A 2015-dated one-dollar coin was mistakenly included in the new set of two-dollar, one-dollar, 50-cent, 25-cent, 10-cent and 5-cent coins that were released on January 12th, rather than a 2016-dated one dollar coin. The Royal Canadian Mint said an assembly error was responsible for the affected sets, and has apologized publicly about the same. Those customers with the wrong dollar may be returned for replacement by calling the Mint.
The Royal Canadian Mint said returned sets will be replaced as soon as possible and noted that serial numbers may be different on replacement sets.
