Finest Known 1805 O-112 Bust Half Dollar to be Auctioned

Stack’s Bowers is going to offer the finest known 1805 O-112 half dollar at the Official Auction of the Whitman Coin & Collectibles Spring Expo in March. The coin features Pinkish and golden iridescence on the surface with a satiny lustre mainly on the reverse. The strike is great, defining the shield lines and eagle feathers well. Diagnostic clash marks and die-cracks are sharp and clear at the borders. The exceptional coin was a part of various interesting collections.The offered coin is graded MS-62 by PCGS. Only the Newman O-108 is finer out of the overall 1805 issue at PCGS. Another coin of the same type, graded MS-61 by NGC made using 1805 O-112 dies will also be offered. Other rare Bust Half Dollars like MS-62 (PCGS) 1795 O-116; the AU-58 (NGC) 1795 O-126 Small Head Beistle plate coin, ex Green-Johnson-Boyd; a scarce 1801 O-102 in AU-58+ (NGC), the 1806 O-110 and O-124 E/A in States varieties will also be offered!
