2016-02-16 Tue
The Royal Canadian Mint in 2013 issued special commemorative issues celebrating the 75th anniversary Superman. Superman was created in 1933 by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster. The ‘Man of Steel’ is featured in a series of seven collectors’ coins of various denominations such as: 75 dollar 14-karat gold coin, 10, 15 and three 20 dollar fine silver coins. The coins depict different moments in the Man of Steel’s history and they’re all engraved with the phrase “75 years of Superman,” written in Kryptonian. The coins show a shift of Shuster’s superman to the modern version of Stan Lee.
In 2014 more 4 coins featuring Superman were released with some more classic imagery of Superman and his famous ‘S-shield’.
