APMEX released the 2018 5 oz Silver ATB Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore, MI, from America the Beautiful Silver Bullion Coin™ series. It is the first release of 2018 in the series and 41st overall.Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore is known for 15 miles of colourful sandstone cliffs at Michigan’s Upper Peninsula along Lake Superior. It has caves, natural archways, waterfalls and sand dunes. The reverse features the Chapel Rock formation which is an archway with one single tree on it. The obverse features John Flanagan’s portrait of George Washington and the inscriptions “United States of America”, “Liberty”, “In God We Trust” and “Quarter Dollar”.
Coins can be purchased separately or buyers could opt for MintDirect® tubes. Each 10-coin tube is sealed in protective plastic as soon as it is taken out from the mint-sealed boxes. America the Beautiful Series began in 2010 and will go on until 2021. 56 coins in the series celebrate a national park or national site from every U.S. state and territory. They are released as circulating quarters. 5 oz Silver bullion coins with detailed designs are also available.
