2018-01-16 Tue
Marshall Islands has appointed Inter-Governmental Philatelic Corporation (IGPC) as its exclusive philatelic agent from 1st January. IGPC was also the first international philatelic agency to collaborate with this former US administrated trust territory when it began issuing postage stamps as a republic on 2nd May 1984.On 1st August 1989, Unicover Corp. of Cheyenne, Wyo., took over IGPC. A set of seven 25¢ booklet stamps and a single $1 souvenir sheet was released by Marshal Island on that date to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the first manned moon landing.
IGPC is the world’s biggest philatelic agency working with over 70 international government postal authorities. Marshall Islands Post has already issued new stamps in 2018 like the $7 commemorative stamps celebrating the royal engagement of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, and a sheet of four stamps to honour the Year of the Dog.
