A Set of Dutch Banknotes Presented as Christmas Gifts

A Christmas gift comprising of all Dutch banknotes from 5 to 500 euros, worth €885 in total, was presented to the employees and associates of the Central Bank of Netherlands in 2017. However, the recipients were not allowed to spend the notes. The set of seven notes are placed on a two-piece, hinged Plexiglas display case. The bank’s name is embossed on the case as well. It also came with an official letter stating that the notes cannot be removed from the case, and if they were, they could not be spent.The bank has no plans to sell this set but an Amsterdam dealer was able to buy one set and is going to sell it online for €750.
