Aurangzeb Gold Mohur Sold for INR 85,000

A very rare gold mohur issued by Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb was sold for INR 85,000 in Classical Numismatic Gallery Auction held on 15th November 2017.Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb had issued this coin from the mint Dar-ul-Fath Ujjain in the Hijri year 1112 during the 45th year of his reign. The obverse of the coin is inscribed as ‘Sikka Zad Dar Jahan Chu Mihr-e-munir Badshah Aurangzeb Alamgir’ with AH Date. The reverse of the coin is inscribed as Julus Formula, RY and Mint Name with the mint name.
