Wolf and its Beautiful Glowing Eyes on Canadian Coins
2017-12-09 Sat
The last coin from the Animal Eyes series is being sold by the Royal Canadian Mint. The special series highlights the beautiful eyes of some of Canada’s unique wildlife. The final coin is the "2017 $15 In The Eyes Of The Wolf Silver Glow-in-the-Dark Coin". Earlier ones include Eyes of the Great Horned Owl coin and the In the Eyes of the Lynx coin. The mintage limit of all three coins is 6,500 only.
The new glossy enamel effect increases the depth of colour. The glow-in-the-dark technology makes the eyes glow when the coin is taken into darkness. The obverse features a common portrait of Queen Elizabeth II along with other inscriptions CANADA, 2017, ELIZABETH II, D G REGINA and 15 DOLLARS. The 23.17 grams coin is made of 99.99% pure silver to proof quality and comes with a serialized certificate.
