The US History of Hockey souvenir sheet was issued on 20th October with an extremely limited release. Though a pane of 20 non-denominated (49¢) History of Hockey forever stamps is being sold in post offices, the souvenir sheet can only be ordered through the USPS Stamp Fulfillment Services.

It was a joint issue with Canada Post but was not sold separately at the inauguration ceremony in Detroit, Mich. An example of the souvenir sheet along with a set with the pane of 20 U.S. History of Hockey forever stamps, the Canadian souvenir sheet, and first-day covers were offered.

There have been similar cases where collectors were allowed to buy stamps only through Stamp Fulfillment Services.
