Vatican Stamp Honours Pope's visit to Baku

A special series of stamps were released by the Vatican to celebrate Pope Francis's visits of last year. The stamp that celebrates Pope’s visit to Azerbaijan and Georgia features a picture of the Bibiheybat mosque. Pope Francis had paid a visit to Azerbaijan on 2nd October 2016.There are other stamps as well which honour Pope’s visit to Mexico, Poland, Greece, Sweden and Armenia. Born on 17th December 1936, Pope Francis is the 266th and current Pope of the Catholic Church. He is also the ex-officio Bishop of Rome, and sovereign of Vatican City. He has many firsts to his name, first Jesuit pope, first from America, first from Southern Hemisphere and the first pope from outside Europe after the Syrian Gregory III, who reigned in the 8th century.
