2017-11-14 Tue
Osborne Mint in association with Anonymous Mint is going to release a series of .999 fine silver medals with convex obverse and concave reverse, named Armed Forces Convex Rounds, to commemorate the five branches of the U.S. armed forces: Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, and Coast Guard. The coins have a common reverse design and are struck on special domed dies to recreate highly polished silver buttons. Four of the five designs are featured on actual military uniform buttons. The Army coin design is inspired by a Department of the Army emblem. The reverse depicts the design of the Great Seal which appears on military insignia.
A portion of the money earned through the sale of these coins will be donated to the Wounded Warrior Project. These coins are encapsulated in a two-sided, numbered certificate of authenticity. The mintage limit of each coin is 1,000 and are sold exclusively through JM Bullion.
