600 rare and 2,000-year-old Denarii of Rome worth 200,000 pounds was discovered by a fisherman and amateur historian named Mike Smale with the help of a metal detector in a farmer's field in Bridport, UK.Some of these rare coins were issued under the Roman general Mark Anthony who reigned for a short period of time and was allied with Egypt's Cleopatra. These rare coins are worth 900 pounds each.
Smale is extremely excited to find these coins but stated that he won’t give up his passion for metal detecting or old coins. A coin expert said that these rare coins reflect the history of Roman Britain beautifully
Republican coins and the ones released by Antony were issued before the Roman Invasion of Britain in AD 43. These coins might have been used by both Roman soldiers and citizens in those days.
