Hasan Shah ruled the Kashmir Sultanate after succeeding his father Haidar Shah in the year 1472 CE and ruled it till 1484 CE. In his twelve years of reign, he issued coins in gold, silver and copper. Gold coins issued by him are known as Dinar which weighs around 11.2g and silver coins issued by him weighing around 6.2g are known as Sasnu. . In copper, he issued denomination like Kaserah and Half-Kaserah and they weigh around 5.5-6g and 2.7g respectively. In lead, he issued the denomination like Double Dinara of 3.8g.This gold coin issued by him read as ‘Nigin-i-Mulk Khatam-i-Sulaiman Hasan Shah ibn Haidar Shah Sultan’ on the obverse, Kalima ‘La ila il Allah Muhammad Rasul Allah’ in the centre of a circle, mint name 876 written in the margin of the reverse.
