Part 1 of the Eldorado Collection of Colombian Coins and Paper Money is being offered by Stack’s Bowers Galleries on 12th and 13th January at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in New York City. The 2018 New York International Numismatic Convention (NYINC) will also be held at the same time where the Auction House would be offering other interesting coins and notes as well.Many generations put together this amazing collection of Colombian numismatic items. Highlights of the collection include gold from Gran Colombia, rare and well-known coins of Ecuador etc. Some of the coins offered were produced at the Santa Fe de Bogota mint which was founded in 1622. The collection also comprises of low-mintage issues of the modern era, coins of colonial Spain and independent Colombia from United Provinces of New Granada to the modern-day Republic.
The collection also offers paper money issued over 200 years covering varies genres, series, issuers, and themes. They contain the most exciting banknotes from Latin America.
