Latest Ramayana Stamps Revealed by PM Narendra Modi

Postage stamps depicting different aspects of Lord Ram's life and Ramayana were recently released at Tulsi Manas Mandir in Varanasi by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. There are other stamps on Lord Ram, but these latest Ramayana Stamps are unique as it depicts different aspects of his life. The Hindu epic Ramcharitmanas was believed to be written by poet-saint Goswami Tulsidas at the Tulsi Manas. Click here to know more about Ramcharitmanas. The Prime Minister said that the life of Lord Ram is inspirational for every person. Navratra and Vijayadashami are special when it comes to Hindu mythology, particularly with respect to Lord Ram’s life.

Here is a detailed description about the latest Sheet of Ramayana Stamps that were released. The first stamp features Lord Ram breaking the heavy bow in Ayodhya, a challenge that was organised for finding the perfect suitor for Sita. The second stamp features Dasharatha sending his son Rama on a 14-year exile. The next stamp features Rama bidding goodbye to his beloved brother Bharata who keeps Rama’s sandals on the throne and rules as Rama’s regent. The next stamp features Rama, Laxman and Sita sailing through a boat manoeuvred by Kevat through river Ganga. Another stamp features Shree Ram meeting one of his ardent devotees Shabari. The next stamp features the Valiant bird Jatayu who tried rescuing Sita when she was being abducted by Ravana. The next stamp features Hanuman who spots Sita at Ashok Vatika, after he was asked to fly down to Lanka and find out her whereabouts. The next stamp features Lord Ram being helped by a little squirrel for building a bridge to Lanka. The next stamp features Hanuman carrying the entire Sanjeevani Parvat to save the life of Laxmana who was attacked by the enemies. The next stamp features Lord Ram taking aim at Ravana with his bow for the last time and killing him at the end. All these stamps are of the denomination – 5 rupees.
